MedPeek Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 18, 2026

Overview

MedPeek helps you scan, save, and review the medications you have added to your MedPeek box. This Privacy Policy explains what information MedPeek handles, how it is used, and the choices you have.

What MedPeek Stores

  • Medication label photos you capture in the app
  • OCR text extracted from those photos
  • Medication details you save, such as name, dosage, instructions, summary, and prescriber
  • Citation and evidence metadata used to explain where an answer came from
  • Sign in with Apple account identifiers, if you choose to sign in
  • Subscription and trial status needed to unlock premium features

Where Data Is Stored

MedPeek is designed as a local-first app.

  • Your saved medication box data is primarily stored on your device.
  • MedPeek may contact trusted external medication reference sources when it needs to enrich or verify information about medications you have already saved.
  • Those sources may receive limited query information required to return medication reference data.

MedPeek does not sell your medication data and does not use it for advertising.

How MedPeek Uses Information

  • Save the medications you choose to keep in your MedPeek box
  • Show you medication details, label text, and related explanations
  • Answer in-scope questions about medications you have saved
  • Support subscription, trial, and restore-purchase flows
  • Generate exports you explicitly request, such as PDFs or shared medication lists

Sharing

MedPeek shares your information only when you tell it to.

  • If you use the share or export features, MedPeek prepares the medication list you requested and hands it to the iOS share sheet.
  • The apps or services you choose from the share sheet will handle the shared file or text under their own privacy policies.

What MedPeek Does Not Do

MedPeek is not a general medical chatbot. MedPeek does not provide diagnosis, treatment recommendations, drug interaction guidance in the current version, or emergency medical support.

Always verify medication information against the label and your clinician or pharmacist.

Third-Party Services

MedPeek may rely on Apple services for Sign in with Apple, StoreKit billing, and local notifications, and on trusted medication reference sources including RxNorm, MedlinePlus Connect, DailyMed, and supporting FDA metadata sources.

Retention and Deletion

  • Medication box data remains on your device until you delete it or delete the app.
  • If you remove medications or sign out, MedPeek removes or disconnects the corresponding local data used by the app.
  • Shared or exported files may remain in the destination app or location you chose.

Children

MedPeek is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the current MedPeek Privacy Policy URL.
