SleepSnap Privacy Policy

Overview

SleepSnap helps you log sleep notes, review transcripts, and track patterns over time. This Privacy Policy explains what SleepSnap stores, what may be sent to backend services, and what control you have over your data.

What SleepSnap Handles

• Sleep journal entries you record or edit in the app
• Speech transcripts generated from your voice recordings
• Sleep-related fields such as mood, energy, wake count, probable cause, and keywords
• Sign in with Apple identifiers needed to recognize your account
• Subscription and trial state used to manage access to paid features

Where Data Lives

SleepSnap is designed to feel local-first, with optional cloud recovery for signed-in paid accounts.

• Your sleep entries are stored on-device by default.
• If you turn on cloud sync, SleepSnap can upload your saved entries to its backend so they can be restored later.
• SleepSnap uses Apple services for Sign in with Apple, speech recognition permissions, and StoreKit billing.

How SleepSnap Uses Information

• Save and display your sleep notes
• Generate weekly insights and pattern summaries from your entries
• Support sign-in, trial, billing, restore, and optional sync flows
• Help you export your entries as Markdown when you choose to share them

Sharing and Export

SleepSnap shares your information only when you explicitly tell it to.

• If you use Export to Markdown, SleepSnap prepares a Markdown file of your entries and hands it to the iOS share sheet.
• If you enable cloud sync, your entries may be uploaded to SleepSnap's backend for account-linked restoration.

What SleepSnap Does Not Do

• SleepSnap does not sell your data.
• SleepSnap does not use your sleep notes for advertising.
• SleepSnap is not a medical device, doctor, or emergency service.

Retention and Deletion

• Your local entries remain on your device until you delete them, delete your account in the app, or remove the app.
• If you use the app's Delete Account flow, SleepSnap clears local journal data and attempts to remove synced cloud entries tied to your account.
• Apple subscription records remain managed by Apple under your Apple ID.

Children

SleepSnap is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL.
